Supercharge your giving - give and get your tax back

Supercharge your charitable giving with Clutha Foundation!   Donating through Clutha Foundation supports great local causes, plus it unlocks a 33% tax rebate for you.

How to get money back for your charitable giving

When you donate through Clutha Foundation, you can reclaim 33% of what you give through a tax rebate*.   For instance, when you donate $30, you can claim $10 back from the tax that you have already paid into the government coffers.  Donate $300 and you can claim $100.  With a $3,000 donation, you could receive an impressive $1,000 tax rebate!

Tax rebates can make a big difference to the amount you donate, boosting your individual giving power to causes you care about.

It's easy to claim your tax credit. You can either:

  • Submit copies of your donation receipts electronically throughout the year via your ‘myIR’ account

  • File the tax credit claim form (IR526) from April of the following year

Haven't claimed tax credits for past donations?  IRD allows claims for up to four years (tax years 2021 to 2024).

Boost your donation

Take advantage of New Zealand’s 33% tax rebate to boost your charitable donation.  The tax rebate supercharges giving, encouraging larger donations or even a regifting of the tax rebate itself.  Whether you choose to donate to the General Fund, top up your personal endowment, or give to a Community Fund, each donation helps build a thriving Clutha District.

Don't let your giving go unclaimed, use it to make a difference in your community today.

*Up to the level of income tax paid.
